Pages or Not - It's a Book!

Touring exhibition of artist books by East Gippsland artists

Pages or Not – It’s a Book! is the first touring exhibition of artist books by East Gippsland artists working in book arts.

The exhibition began its tour of East Gippsland at the Orbost Exhibition Centre in September 2009 and is due to open at Yolande Oakley’s Lakeside Studio Gallery, Mallacoota, in March (date to be advised).

Books in the exhibition include books bound with stab binding and Coptic binding; books created with beautiful handmade papers, some textured; concertina books; books with covers made from recycled wood; textile books with intricate stitching and embellished pages and even a ‘book’ made from recycled metal post office boxes. Plus many other formats and materials all highlighting the versatility of artist books to accommodate a huge range of styles and media.
