WORKSHOPS
Artist Insight | Glenys Mann

Saturday 17 August 11am

Glenys Mann is giving an artist insight into her exhibition, Beyond Silence Saturday 17 August at 11am at East Gippsland Art Gallery. Free, all welcome.

Glenys Mann is a contemporary stitcher and collage artist who works with ‘found’ cloth, namely old wool blankets and silk, all hand stitched. Her work is inspired by emotions of the environment and emotions of everyday life. There is always something happening in the mind of this woman. Glenys roams the fringes looking for the unusual and the very different. Stitching is her love, collecting is a passion.

Glenys has been an active member of the textile/fibre world for more than 35 years and is part owner/coordinator of Fibre Arts Australia, a live-in workshop event that is held five times a year. Tutors come from all over the world to share their knowledge with up to 200 fibre/textile artists over a five day period. Fibre/textile art and its promotion is her passion!
