Terms & Conditions

EGAG WRAP 2023 is a small artwork exhibition with an $8000 first prize. This competition is open to every living artist anywhere. Subject to terms and conditions, we accept any subject, any medium and all works entered will be displayed. Artwork can be sold during the exhibition and taken at time of purchase. East Gippsland Art Gallery takes no commission of artwork sales during EGAG WRAP 2023.

 

The 2023 Judge is Simon Gregg, Director of Gippsland Art Gallery Sale.

1st Prize $8,000 EGAG WRAP 2023 acquisitive.

$500 – Carina Turner Environment Award for artists responding to environmental or ecological issues, or exploring ideas and concepts related to nature. Entry into EGAG WRAP 2023 automatically enters you into the Carina Turner environment award.

ELIGIBILITY

The work must be available for exhibition from Friday 01 December 2023 - Saturday 20 January 2024

 

All 2-Dimensional entries must measure no more than 30cmx30cm. THIS INCLUDES ANY FRAMING. Use a ruler to measure from outside edges.

 

All 3-Dimensional entries must not exceed 25cm x 25cm x 25cm in size.

 

All framed and mounted works must have wire and be ready to hang. Framed/mounted works not ready to hang will not be eligible for exhibition or entry in the 2023 prize. We accept works on paper that are not mounted or framed and these will be displayed using magnets. The artworks presented for the exhibition must be the same as the one(s) submitted via the online entry process.

East Gippsland Art Gallery reserves the right to refuse to display work/s if it:

• Does not meet entry requirements.

• Poses safety risks.

• Work/s which under normally accepted standards, could be considered to be offensive in terms of pornographic content, character denigration, racial or religious content or prejudice.

• In any way does not comply with East Gippsland Art Gallery policies and procedures.

• For any other reason the organisation decides; these deci­sions are final and no correspondence will be entered into.

 

By entering EGAG WRAP 2023 you are confirming that you are the creator and owner of the entered work/s. The entry fee is non-refundable and covers administration and handling.

ENTRY

All artists are required to have a current ABN, or supply East Gippsland Art Gallery with a completed Statement by a Supplier Form with the artwork at time of delivery. You can download a Statement by a Supplier Form here: https://www.ato.gov.au/Forms/Statement-by-a-supplier-not-quoting-an-ABN/

JUDGING

The artwork judged as the winner of the EGAG WRAP 2023 Small Artwork Prize will be acquired into the East Gippsland Art Gallery Collection and the winner will receive $8,000 in prize money. The judge’s decision is final, and no correspondence regarding this decision will be entered into.

 

sales

Artworks in EGAG WRAP 2023 may be sold and taken at the time of purchase. 100% of each sale goes straight to the artist, East Gippsland Art Gallery takes no commission on sales made from EGAG WRAP. All payments to artists for sold work are made via EFT. Please make sure you enter your correct bank account details on your entry.

 

Promotion

Entrants agree to East Gippsland Art Gallery reproducing (at no charge) images of entered work in publicity and promotion of EGAG WRAP subject to East Gippsland Art Gallery’s discretion. This does not affect copyright status of the work. Images will be published on social media sites including Instagram and Facebook as well as the East Gippsland Art Gallery website.

 

Freight and postage

Return freight will be standard post through Australia Post. If you require express or registered post contact the Gallery and this will be an extra fee payable. All artworks will be handled by experienced staff. Works will be covered by East Gippsland Art Gallery insurance whilst on display. East Gippsland Art Gallery does not take responsibility for any loss or damage caused to any artwork while in transit to and from the Gallery. All works entered must be suitable to be packaged and posted.

 

Delivery

Works are to be delivered or posted to East Gippsland Art Gallery between the following times Tuesday 21 November – Friday 24 November 2023 between 10am and 4pm.

Failure to comply with any of the above will make an entry ineligible.

 

Pick-up

All unsold works will be available for pick up between Tuesday 30 January, - Friday 02 February 2024 between 10am – 4pm. Work received by us through Post or courier, will be returned within 14 – 21 days at the completion of the exhibition through Australia Post by standard post.

 

Information

All personal information gathered by East Gippsland Art Gallery will be used solely for the purpose of administering the EGAG WRAP 2023.
