ARTISTS IN ISOLATION | 2020

Gary Yelen

Lakes Tyers Beach June

I have been painting, sculpting and exhibiting for over 40 years. Sculpting in Israel on a kibbutz, establishing a studio gallery in Ireland on the Ring of Kerry, and most recently FRUKT in France - where I have had a studio gallery for the last 7 years.

A lot of the last 20 years has been spent here on Lake Tyers - at my gallery in Nowa Nowa, often in splendid isolation, before ISO was a thing. And now moving soon to Fisherman's Landing.

Recently I have been privileged to have been isolated on the FLOAT vessel where I have been painting with watercolours and oils. Surrounded by jumping fish. But very few fishermen. Works are filled with imagined scapes, colours and forms, seeing beyond and challenging the obvious.
