ARTISTS IN ISOLATION | 2020
Ingrid Smith-Rijneveld
Bairnsdale, East Gippsland, May 2020
I have been given a chance to watch the seasons turning more slowly than usual and my focus is much more on the natural world as opposed to our constructed world.
Normally a pastel painter, I am letting myself take a more abstracted track with a mix up of materials including acrylic paint and inks on canvas and yupo paper. Experiment and see what happens. I see this isolation as an opportunity for reflection and learning but I’m definitely missing some face to face interaction.
