As an artist, Klara Jones defies simple classification. Her work spans painting, drawing, and sculpture and her ability to tell a story through all these mediums makes her a unique and highly respected artist. Couch Mother was a central piece in a much larger body of work that Klara exhibited in a major solo exhibition at the Gippsland Art Gallery, titled Our Mother,  this exhibition explored the sometimes complicated relationships that we all have with our mothers.

Couch Mother invites you to come and sit with her, and everybody is welcome to snuggle in with her. She's part of the furniture, and she's always there if we need her for comfort.
