Image: Pat Waters, Dialectic, charcoal on paper

In this image the cockatoo represents nature. I represent humankind as female because woman is symbolic of the feminine element, the gentler side of our human makeup which must manifest strongly in opposition to the forces working against nature rather than in sympathy with her.

'This is the 'Dialectic' - the beauty and power of nature permeates our being, enriching us, and we in our turn, are moved to preserve that which uplifts us.
