Ray Thomas Art Prints

Ray Thomas is an award-winning Gunnai artist and his works are inspired by the stories and designs of his peoples and Country. In 2013, Ray won the Deadly Art Award, the top prize in Victoria’s Indigenous Art Awards for a tender portrait of his mother. The painting, Mum Alice. A Gunnai Elder is a tribute and a glimpse into the life of Alice, the artist’s mother, then 94, one of the oldest among the Gunnai people.

Ray’s public Gippsland work includes a mural under the Snowy River bridge at Orbost and a mural on the train bridge at Stratford. In 2021 Ray created Djeetgun Dreaming, the artwork for a Melbourne tram.
