Ryley Hubbard, The Cheerleader Effect

In the Vault

24 March - 29 April  2023

Opening event 5.30pm Friday 24 March | All welcome FREE

One of my favourite authors is popular for claiming “the only thing worth writing about is the human heart in conflict with itself,” a quote attributed to one of his favourite authors. I think, at least for me personally, this is doubly so with art. My art has always been an outlet for whatever conflict I was experiencing at the time, be it sadness, heart break, anger, or loneliness. I think it is an invaluable act to take these terrible feelings and turn them into something beautiful.

So here is the cheerleader effect: a collection of unappealing elements
